Unalienable Rights and Business Owners

Unalienable Rights come from God.The hot topics of today seem to be racism and not serving certain people at business establishments.

The phrase, “All men are created equal”, means that we are all the same; that no person has any more authority or power than any other person.  It also means that we all have the same rights.

When a person or a group of people begin to demand a privilege that infringes on the rights of others then that very act degrades freedom for everyone.  The concept of equality means that your rights end where mine begin. You have the rights to do anything you want so long as you cause no harm.

Harm does not mean or intend to mean to include being offended by another’s actions.  My rights and freedoms are to interact or not, as I choose, for ANY reason and with anyone I want.  The idea that as business owner I MUST serve everyone is a violation of my rights.

To put this into perspective imagine that a court orders you to be friends with Adolf Hitler, or Jack the Ripper. Would you find this to be a fair and correct action?  And to think that it’s different for a business owner, who chooses to refuse service to ANY person they elect not to serve, is the epitome of ignorance.

Our freedoms have been constantly eroded by special interest groups.  We are all equal and have equal rights.  If your rights are being infringed then you have a valid claim to take action on.  But first you must understand what your rights are and thus the rights of others.  Remember that your rights end where mine begin.

Our society is failing because of a lack of morals, education and courteous exchange.  It’s time to realize that in order to have rights you must be willing to learn what they are and have the respect and tolerance to allow others the same rights you expect and deserve.

Rob’s Comments:  Although I personally hate corporatism we must accept that there is a valid and verifiable difference between business and corporatism.  With that said, business owner’s deserve the same unalienable rights that you and I deserve as individuals.  If I can refuse a person from entering my house for any reason I feel and not be obligated to give answer as to why then so can a business owner with his property (business).
